Reflections from the Serengeti: the Masai, sustainability, and decolonizing conservation

Conservation is deeply rooted in colonialism, with decisions being made without accounting the worldview of the indigenous peoples that have inhabited and protected the land from millennia. Since the focus is on tourism in Serengeti instead than in the wildlife and the environment, we need to fill the void and take action to make our visit more sustainable, while learning about the situation to push towards decolonizing conservation – Experiencing the Globe
